Even before it was launched, the new variant of this legendary SUV had already been ordered by many consumers. Now Suzuki has collected many orders from consumers over the last month. However, they still bring in units directly from India.
Suzuki Collects Many Jimny 5-Door Orders
It could be said that the Jimny 5-door is one of the most successful cars sold by Suzuki in Indonesia. How could it not be, before it was launched there were already many consumers who ordered it, and even then at a very high order rate. Not only the 5-door model, the previous 3-door model was also widely ordered, even causing order queues of more than a year.
Suzuki already knows that the Jimny 5-door still gets as good a reception as the 3-door model. However, like the previous model, they brought it in a CBU model imported from India. Due to high demand, some hope they can assemble it locally in Indonesia.

Regarding that, Suzuki still wants to see what the high demand in its market is like so far. Indeed, the number of pivots is high, but it is not certain whether it is enough to allow him to assemble a 5-door Jimny. Because it hasn’t led to that yet, they can’t do it for now.
If you look, the Jimny actually uses the same type of engine as the Ertiga and XL7. However, the only difference is its shape, which is rear drive, while the Ertiga-XL7 uses a front drive model. Because it is a rear drive engine, the transmission and chassis are also different so they must be adjusted first.
It might sound quite troublesome, and it’s not certain whether Suzuki can assemble it in Indonesia. For now, there is no chance of the Jimny 5-door being assembled.
