RiderTua.com – BYD has just started selling its cars in Indonesia with three superior BEV models. Of the three cars, the Atto 3 is aimed at the segment that has many fans here, namely SUVs. In fact, BYD will not only sell SUVs or sedans, but also MPVs. They see this segment as having quite big potential for it.
BYD Targets the MPV Segment in Indonesia
The MPV segment can be said to have quite a lot of enthusiasts even amidst the increasing trend of SUV cars in the global market. Its sales performance is also quite good, and the various models offered are certainly an attraction for customers. However, brands like BYD want to enter this segment because there are not many eco-friendly models on offer.
So far, the environmentally friendly variants sold in the MPV market are still limited to hybrid models. From the Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid to the Toyota Kijang Innova Zenix Hybrid, each of them was able to record quite good sales results. Even though there is a BEV model in Indonesia, namely the Kijang Innova EV, the model is still a concept and continues to be developed until now.

Good Chance
Of course, the absence of BEV models in the market could be an opportunity for BYD to enter it. In fact, they don’t have many MPV cars in their product line-up, but they will review the plan. If this is done soon, BYD might also be able to develop it themselves, even if the factory is completed.
BYD’s car line-up is mostly filled with SUV models, but there are also hatchback, city car and sedan models. However, the promising MPV market in Indonesia seems to have made them interested in selling similar models. Moreover, environmentally friendly models have begun to emerge.
