RiderTua.com – Toyota car sales throughout last month still made it the best-selling car brand in Indonesia. Even though market conditions declined during this period, they were still helped by sales of their MPV cars. Like the Toyota Avanza which continues to lead car sales in the LMPV segment. However, almost all models experienced a decline in sales, except for the Honda Mobilio.
Toyota Avanza Still Maintains Top Position in Its Segment
Overall, low MPV cars sold throughout January 2024 reached 10,383 units. This result decreased drastically from the previous period last year, with a difference of 5,436 units. Despite these less conducive conditions, the Toyota Avanza was still able to maintain its top position with 3,889 units sold.
This result actually also dropped drastically from last year, when at that time the Avanza sold more than 5 thousand units. Meanwhile, behind it is still followed by the Mitsubishi Xpander which sold 2,045 units. In fact, if you look at the sales results for January 2023, Xpander was below Veloz sales.
- Toyota Avanza: 3.889 units
- Mitsubishi Xpander: 2.045 units
- Daihatsu Xenia: 1.240 units
- Hyundai Stargazer: 1.118 units
- Toyota Veloz: 956 units
- Suzuki Ertiga: 952 units
- Honda Mobilio: 121 units
- Wuling Confero: 32 units
- Nissan Livina: 30 units

Continue to Dominate the Market
Regarding Veloz, it turns out that this model was knocked out of the top three rankings, and its sales lost to the Xenia and Stargazer. The Ertiga remains Suzuki’s mainstay even in these conditions, with the biggest contribution contributed by the hybrid variant. This model is the only LMPV car that offers an environmentally friendly variant in Indonesia, at least for now.
After the Ertiga, other models such as the Mobilio, Confero and Livina only sold less than 200 units. But unlike models in its class, Mobilio recorded an increase in sales from 69 units in January 2023 to 121 units. Even though this model has not received any refreshment at all, including the Nissan Livina which occupies the last position.
