RiderTua.com – Stefan Bradl and Marc Marquez worked together for Honda for many years. After Baby Alien moved to the Gresini Ducati satellite team, the HRC (Honda Racing Corporation) test rider from Zahling-Germany continued to observe Marquez’s career.
At the race weekend at COTA Austin, Bradl interpreted Marquez’s extreme body language when he deliberately isolated himself completely in the pit lane before the race, away from the bike. “It means something to Marc, because he knows that a lot of things are possible. And if he says that a lot of things are possible, then a podium is not enough for him. He’s sitting on the right material, he can smell what it’s like to be at the top ,” said Bradl.
Stefan Bradl: When Marc Marquez Falls, Acosta Must Be Smiling

Stefan Bradl added that Marc Marquez wants to win again, more than 900 days is too long. He felt the opportunities and mistakes were painful. He had his first fight since the start of the race. Then he raced old style and took the lead. Unfortunately, something went wrong with it, which was disappointing.
Regarding the crash experienced by Marquez when braking after the straight, when he was leading at the United States GP last Sunday, Bradl said, “At first I thought maybe he was racing with an old style Honda. It was very unstable. But then he admitted that there had been problems with the brakes. He was leading on the lap when he crashed, Pedro Acosta was happy because he was right behind him, he definitely smiled a little when Marquez crashed. Maybe it was also (a gesture) part of the generational change.”
Is Marquez’s move to Ducati the right move? Bradl tried to analyze, “If we look back at Honda’s current performance, of course! This is not a factory bike from Marc, but the support is good. Only if we look at brake problems, that never happens on Honda. But he will overcome it. I’m sure he’ll be at the front again soon.”
Regarding the MotoGP wildcard appearance at Jerez at the end of April, Bradl said that he was really looking forward to it and was excited. It’s clear that it won’t be easy to keep up with Honda’s rivals there. But if Honda remains relaxed and focused, then everything will be fine.
Stefan Bradl will not be the only wildcard rider at the Spanish GP. MotoGP legend and KTM test rider Dani Pedrosa also took part in Jerez with the RC16.
