RiderTua.com – Toyota car sales in Indonesia are still quite good, especially after the Avanza still maintains its top position in its segment. This low MPV car remains the best-selling model with 2,605 units sold last April. However, like other brands, Toyota was also affected by the decline in car sales in the Indonesian market during this period. Not to mention the Mitsubishi Xpander which is still trailing the Avanza.
Toyota Affected by Decline in Car Sales Last Month
Throughout last April, car sales in Indonesia were still led by Toyota, which was able to sell more than thousands of units. Still, they are also affected by the decline in market conditions which also has a big impact on the sales results they get. Obviously this makes it quite difficult for producers to achieve the targets set for this year.
Even so, Toyota car sales are still number one in a number of segments, such as low MPV (LMPV), where the Avanza is able to maintain its top position. Even with the market conditions at that time, its sales still outperformed several of its rivals. Including the Xpander which still poses a ‘threat’ to the Avanza and models in its class.
- Toyota Avanza: 2.605 units
- Mitsubishi Xpander: 1.049 units
- Daihatsu Xenia: 782 units
- Hyundai Stargazer: 503 units
- Suzuki Ertiga: 459 units
- Toyota Veloz: 332 units
- Honda Mobilio : 120 units
- Wuling Confero: 51 units
- Nissan Livina: 20 units

Hundreds of Units Sold
If you look, only Avanza and Xpander were able to sell more than 1,000 units last April. Even though models like the Xenia and Veloz can sell more than that, now both of them only sell hundreds of units. The same thing also happens to other models in its class, such as the Ertiga and Stargazer.
Interestingly, the Mobilio, which has appeared again on the LMPV car sales list, was able to sell 120 units, even though the results were not announced last March. Meanwhile, Confero experienced a significant decline in sales, while Livina only fell by 10 units from the previous month.
