RiderTua.com – Honda and a number of car brands in Indonesia experienced a drastic decline in sales last April. In fact, this decline in results is the worst since the four-wheeled market recovered from the conditions that occurred in 2020. Honda considers this situation to be a tough challenge for automotive manufacturers in Indonesia. And of course, recovering sales will take a long time.
Honda Experiences a Significant Decline in Car Sales
April should be a long-awaited moment for car manufacturers in Indonesia to increase their sales even further. But the opposite happened, where the results obtained decreased drastically from the previous month, with a decrease of more than 40 percent. Honda is one of those experiencing a decline in sales of this car, in fact its results decreased by 50 percent from those obtained in March.
Honda was only able to sell 4,611 car units last April, and that was a very small result compared to its monthly sales which could reach 10 thousand units. Of course this raises a number of questions about what actually happened. Honda explained that there were several causes for this decline in sales, and the most important was the economic conditions in Indonesia.

New Car Brand
Indeed, if you look at it, the economic situation in the last few months has not been very good, from rising interest rates to the weakening of the rupiah exchange rate, it can have a big impact on car sales. Not to mention the many holidays last month, so the production and delivery of cars to consumers was not optimal. Honda also explained that global economic factors were also the cause of this sales decline.
However, the perception that the presence of a number of new car brands in Indonesia has influenced the decline in sales is not the main factor. In fact, Honda said that the presence of a new manufacturer here could add more car choices for consumers. Especially in accelerating electrification which has often been carried out over the last few years.
