RiderTua.com – Sales of GWM (Great Wall Motor) cars in Indonesia have just started with the release of products from Haval and Tank. However, they still have one other brand, namely Ora, and this brand sells electric cars. GWM has indeed planned to assemble its electric cars locally so as not to be too dependent on imports. But they haven’t confirmed when they will start.
GWM will Produce Ora Electric Cars in Indonesia
Since its first presence in Indonesia, GWM has planned to produce cars locally. Models such as the Haval Jolion and H6 as well as the Ora Good Cat 03 have been confirmed to be assembled here, although they have not confirmed when production can start. In fact, GWM already has a production site, which uses Mercedes-Benz car assembly facilities located in Wanaherang, Bogor, West Java.
This factory will later produce GWM cars locally, including electric cars. So far they will only assemble the Ora Good Car 03, a BEV model that was previously introduced, but was not sold along with the Haval and Tank. Maybe GWM still needs time to prepare for sales, considering that this model is an electric car.

Further Preparation
But the most important thing is localizing local components in its cars if GWM wants to sell them at affordable prices, including getting electric car incentives. Based on the existing requirements, electric cars that want to get incentives must have at least 40 percent domestic components. Of course, this is something that must be handled, not to mention sales and production preparations.
However, this is also something that GWM must face in order to be able to sell its environmentally friendly cars in Indonesia. They certainly want to provide the best for their consumers, by offering cars that are sold at affordable prices, but with the best quality. Currently, GWM only sells Haval and Tank hybrid cars.
