RiderTua.com – The Land Cruiser is still Toyota’s mainstay in the luxury SUV segment, especially in the full-size SUV market. Even with the price being quite expensive, many people are attracted to this model because of the quality and variants it offers. With electrification growing rapidly, Toyota is considering making a BEV version of the Land Cruiser. It’s just that this model will be known as the Highlander and produced in the United States.
Toyota will Develop the BEV Version of the Land Cruiser
Cars like the Land Cruiser clearly have many fans in the global market, including Indonesia, even though they are quite expensive. But as a premium class car, the price is commensurate with the quality and performance it has. Apart from the base model as the 500, Toyota also provides the Prado model to expand its product line-up.
With demand in its market still high, Toyota is starting to electrify its cars. Land Cruiser is now the next target, where it is known that they will develop an electric variant or BEV. However, development and production will be carried out in the United States, and even then the model will be sold as the Highlander.

Sold in Global Market?
However, Toyota is likely to present an electric variant of the Land Cruiser as an SE variant. Because news has emerged regarding Toyota’s plans to prepare the production of electric-powered 7-seater SUVs in Indiana. There is a strong suspicion that the model in question is the Land Cruiser SE, not the Highlander which will be assembled in Kentucky.
So far, information about the two electric SUVs is still unclear, including certainty whether the Land Cruiser SE will use a ladder frame chassis or not. What is clear, Toyota is ready to launch it starting next year. It is not yet certain whether this SE model will also be sold in the global market, while the Highlander is only sold in North America.
