RiderTua.com – Great Wall Motor (GWM) has only sold three cars in Indonesia from its two brands, namely Haval and Tank. Even so, they have been able to present their environmentally friendly cars in HEV models, even with varying selling prices. GWM said that hybrid cars are as important as electric cars. So implementing incentives for this type of car will not have a negative impact on the BEV market.
Great Wall Motor Sells Hybrid Cars First
The environmentally friendly car market in Indonesia is still growing rapidly, both hybrid and electric cars. Of course, this has made a number of automotive manufacturers from abroad interested in selling a number of their superior products here, including Great Wall Motor (GWM). Haval and Tank took precedence by selling their hybrid cars, such as the Tank 500 and Haval H6 and Jolion.
Even though they also have the Ora electric car brand, GWM said that the hybrid car market is growing quite rapidly here. It seems this is what made them decide to sell HEV cars first, especially as SUV cars are also sought after by consumers. GWM may also receive incentives if one day it is implemented.

Lots of Demand in the Market
They think that hybrid and electric cars are equally important here, because both can accelerate electrification in the car market in Indonesia. Apart from that, hybrid cars have a lot of demand in the market because consumers are still interested in the advantages they have. Such as fuel efficiency and of course the selling price.
Maybe this is what gives rise to the opinion that hybrid car incentives could disrupt the electric car market. GWM feels that this is not a problem, and it is clear that HEV cars are the best sellers, although not all models sold here are locally assembled. So a plan emerged to provide incentives for this type of car.
