RiderTua.com – The Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid is one of three hybrid cars it sells in Indonesia. Sales are quite good, although they can’t beat the XL7 Hybrid, but at least they can beat their competitors in the low MPV segment. Because only Suzuki can present an environmentally friendly model in this segment. Although they have to prepare to face Mitsubishi which will release a challenger to the Ertiga Hybrid.
Suzuki Sells Environmentally Friendly Cars in the LMPV Segment
Most hybrid cars sold in Indonesia are SUVs, although there are also other types such as sedans and hatchbacks. MPVs are still quite difficult to find, and are usually provided on more luxurious models such as the Toyota Alphard-Vellfire. This is what makes Suzuki present the Ertiga Hybrid to fill its market.
The Ertiga Hybrid is a new beginning for the LMPV segment, because so far no other similar model has been sold in Indonesia. Even though it is a mild hybrid car, its fairly affordable selling price has made it one of Suzuki’s mainstays. However, it seems that this also opens up opportunities for competitors to present models like the Ertiga Hybrid.

Toyota Hasn’t Decided Yet
Mitsubishi introduced the Xpander HEV in Thailand several months ago, but the model still has the potential to be sold in Indonesia. In fact, they have listed the technology here, or maybe it also includes the LMPV model. Mitsubishi itself has not provided information about this, but they have confirmed that the Xpander HEV will be released here.
Meanwhile, Toyota, which leads the LMPV segment, still has no plans to present a similar model to confront its two rivals. In fact, with their experience in assembling models such as the Yaris Cross HEV, they could develop the Avanza HEV. Although it all depends on Toyota’s own decision.
