This electric-powered hatchback car has become a new mainstay in the market after releasing the Binguo EV and Air EV several months ago.     Wuling Now Relies on Three Electric Cars in Indonesia

    Electric car sales in Indonesia are still led by Wuling with the Binguo EV being its new flagship. Even though it was only introduced at the end of last year, this model successfully sold more than 1,000 units throughout the first quarter of 2024. Binguo was also able to outperform its strongest rivals in the market, such as the MG 4 EV and Chery Omoda E5, which were only released this year.

    Now Wuling is presenting Cloud EV as a complement to its electric car line-up in Indonesia. This model is also a hatchback car, although with different dimensions and specifications from the Binguo EV, as well as the price. This is what makes it placed in a higher segment than Binguo, and Wuling ensures that the two will not compete for each other’s markets.

    Different Target Markets

    For comparison, the Binguo is sold at prices ranging from IDR 317 million to IDR 372 million, while the Cloud EV is priced at IDR 410 million, which is still the estimated price. Apart from that, when compared to the two previous electric cars, the Cloud EV only has one variant, and this variant has a longer range than the two. It’s not surprising that Wuling sells it at a higher price than Binguo or Air EV.

    Air EV itself will not be disturbed by the presence of Cloud EV, especially since the price difference is already very different. This model is presented to fill the market below both, or more precisely entry level cars. Because Wuling wants to offer BEV cars at more affordable prices to its consumers.
