RiderTua.com – Pedro Acosta is reportedly in talks to sign a new contract with KTM. The 19 year old rookie performed impressively in the first 4 series of the 2024 MotoGP season, which was enough to get an award from his manufacturer.
Acosta’s current deal with KTM expires at the end of 20204, but includes a clause to extend their partnership until 2025. But last weekend at Jerez, the young Spanish talent reportedly sat down with KTM officials to discuss a new contract.
Pedro Acosta Prepares to Sign New Contract with KTM

Spanish media Marca reported, “They are in no rush. Because both parties know that they both want to reach an agreement and there is nothing to bother them.”
Other manufacturers are reportedly interested in acquiring Acosta, but KTM wants to ‘close the door’ on their rivals by completing a new deal this summer.
The new contract means Acosta is tied to KTM until the end of 2026. This puts him on a par with other top MotoGP riders such as Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) and Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha), as well as KTM rider Brad Binder. The new contract would also provide a salary increase, long-term stability and better status for Acosta.
Although next season KTM maintains its decision to leave him at the Tech3 GASGAS team or promote him to the factory team, Acosta is expected to be given the opportunity to progress. Jack Miller, whose contract will expire at the end of this year, will logically be the driver replaced. From KTM’s point of view, giving Acosta a new contract would guarantee his future for 1 additional season.
Acosta reportedly wants to keep the same technical staff if he signs and becomes a factory rider. “The team that Pol Espargaro left me is extraordinary, I am very comfortable with them,” said the rider nicknamed Shark Mazarron.
This season Acosta became the 3rd young podium finisher in MotoGP. His racing style and pleasant personality have endeared him to the entire paddock.
