RiderTua.com – Jorge Martin took over the lead of the race after successfully overtaking Pecco Bagnaia at the Jerez GP on Sunday. The Pramac Ducati team rider appeared confident until lap 10. But then he crashed at turn 6. Martin was forced to watch from the pit as two-time consecutive world champion Pecco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo) won, after successfully beating Marc Marquez and reducing the deficit in the standings is 17 points.

According to Martin it was a strange crash, the speed was the same as the previous lap and the brakes were in the same place. “We need to look at this in more detail, to understand it better and prevent it in the future,” said the rider from Madrid, Spain.

Jorge Martin added that his pace had been consistently good up to that point. But in the end he will not be able to reach the speed like Pecco. He had protected the rear tire, was focused and confident so he didn’t expect to crash. At another corner the 26 year old rider took a bigger risk. If he pushed he could understand how the crash could happen, but that wasn’t the case.

The championship leader ruled out that the crash occurred because the air pressure in the front tire was too high. “We will find out the cause of the crash and find a solution. That’s why I’m relaxed. Since last year, I have significantly improved in this regard. I won the race on Saturday, was very competitive on both dry and wet tracks, and led 10 laps on Sunday’s race. I won’t leave Jerez with nothing. That’s why I’m not too worried,” concluded Martinator.
