RiderTua.com – Despite being in 5th place on the timesheet in Friday practice at Jerez, Jorge Martin felt he was much stronger in the race. “I have difficulty in time attacks. But if I organize everything correctly on Saturday, then I can be super fast. My target is to be at the front of the pack. I raced 11 laps in a row to understand what problems occurred,” explained the rider That Pramac Ducati.

Martin added that the bike was functioning well, there was no vibration. Even though he was sometimes caught in a crowd of riders, his time was always low, namely 1:37 minutes. That was the speed he could use to win the race. Martin believes it depends on the distance or temperature when the vibration occurs. The reasons are difficult to understand.

Pecco Bagnaia (Lenovo Ducati) took first place after completing qualifying on Friday at Jerez by posting a lap record of 1:36.025 minutes. Meanwhile, Maverick Vinales (Aprilia) was in 2nd place, losing 0.1 seconds to Pecco but 0.143 seconds ahead of Marc Marquez (Gresini Ducati) who was in 3rd place. And Jorge Martin lost 0.4 seconds in 5th place.

Jorge Martin said that he had modified several things on his Desmosedici to improve the braking phase. He compares with Pecco and Marc, in terms of braking he is very close to them. “He is also ready and in this case he feels better than last season,” said the 26-year-old Spanish rider.

The standings leader revealed that he can attack and defend himself when he is ahead. Maverick will also be strong, but Martin cannot compare himself with Vinales because he does not have the data. The bike turns very well in fast corners, if it continues like this Vinales will be a contender for victory. “He’s been good in the last 3 races. See how he performs on a track where he usually struggles,” said Aleix Espargaro’s teammate.

Based on the weather forecast, there will be light rain in Jerez on Saturday morning until around 10.00 (local time). But this didn’t worry Martin. “I’ve won in wet races. But in mixed conditions I lack confidence. Especially with rain tires on a track that’s starting to dry out. I don’t know whether it will actually rain or not at all. And if the result is different, I have to try to improve it,” concluded Martinator.
