RiderTua.com – Chery may be one of the car brands from the Bamboo Curtain country that was underestimated when it first arrived in Indonesia. After returning here, they brought high quality products even though all the models were SUVs. However, this is what Chery has been relying on in Indonesia in the last year. In fact, its sales rose significantly from last year thanks to sales of its SUV line-up.
Chery Records Sales Increase of Up to 186.2 Percent
Initially, Chery car sales only recorded hundreds of units each year. However, over time, they were able to convince Indonesian consumers with the quality offered in their products. It’s true that all the models are SUVs, but that doesn’t mean they all have quality that many people doubt.
Now Chery is able to become one of the best-selling car brands in Indonesia, even though it is in 11th position with a market share of 0.6 percent. Throughout January to March 2024, they have sold 1,351 units, and this is a good result. Even when compared with the results obtained last year in the same period, there was an increase of up to 186.2 percent.

More New Models
Of course, this is a significant price increase, especially for brands that have just returned to Indonesia, such as Chery. They probably didn’t expect that their car sales could increase drastically from the previous year. Its sales are also helped by the large number of models it sells in the SUV market, especially the Omoda 5 which has been its mainstay for so long.
Both Omoda 5 and E5 recorded quite good sales results, and were able to exceed sales of the Tiggo series. Even with different sales results, Chery still relies on the three Tiggo models it currently sells. Including the Tiggo 5x which was launched last February to fill the segment under its SUV line-up.
