RiderTua.com – Toyota still proves to be the leader in car sales in Indonesia. This is no exception in the low MPV segment, where the Avanza remained the best-selling car in its segment last month. It’s just that Toyota recorded a decline in Avanza sales of up to 9.9 percent. Not only the Avanza, other models also experienced the same thing.

Toyota Still Holds Excellence in the Low MPV Segment

Car sales in Indonesia throughout March were quite good, especially during the first quarter of this year. It’s just that there is a visible decline in sales compared to the previous year. This can be clearly seen from the sales results of low MPV cars last month, where the Toyota Avanza only recorded 3,795 units sold.

This result decreased by 9.9 percent compared to February, where the Avanza was able to sell up to 4,214 units. Of course, this is quite a big decrease in results, even though the difference in sales is not that big.

    1. Toyota Avanza: 3.795 units
    2. Mitsubishi Xpander: 1.798 units
    3. Toyota Veloz: 1.308 units
    4. Daihatsu Xenia: 1.198 units
    5. Suzuki Ertiga: 744 units
    6. Hyundai Stargazer: 352 units
    7. Wuling Confero: 269 units
    8. Nissan Livina: 30 units

    Sales Slow

Not only the Avanza, almost all models in the LMPV segment also experienced a decline in sales. Except for the Ertiga and Confero which experienced an increase, and Mobilio is still stuck with 30 cars sold. But at least these three models can survive amidst slowing sales performance in their segment due to a number of factors.

Apart from economic conditions at home, abroad are also experiencing similar conditions, especially with inflation in the United States. This clearly makes it difficult for manufacturers to sell their cars, even after the IIMS 2024 exhibition was held last February. So there is a sales discount for a number of LMPV models in Indonesia, even though it will only be implemented starting in the middle of this month.
