RiderTua.com – Marc Marquez ‘s crew chief, Frankie Carchedi, said that it was extraordinary that the Gresini rider could be at the forefront of COTA on Sunday despite a problem with the front brake. As is known, Marc struggled to win in the first 10 laps but was ultimately trapped due to front brake problems and fell moments after leading the race from rookie Pedro Acosta.
Frankie Carchedi wrote on social media ‘Very disappointed for Marc today’. Leading the race with problems throughout the race, it’s incredible. “We found the pace we needed yesterday, but an unfortunate problem arose in the race that we will learn from and improve on,” said Frankie.

Marc Marquez, who was a 7-time winner at COTA while still with Repsol Honda, was the top Ducati rider by finishing in 2nd place behind winner Maverick Vinales (Aprilia) in Saturday’s sprint race. As well as experiencing brake problems in Sunday’s main race, Marquez also suffered aero damage to his GP23 after contact with Jack Miller early in the race.
However, the 6-time MotoGP world champion managed to overtake Jorge Martin and Pecco Bagnaia, both of whom were riding factory-spec GP24s, on their way to becoming leaders in the race.
Fabio di Giannantonio (Pertamina Enduro VR46) then finished in 6th place as the top GP23 rider, losing 9.980 seconds to race winner Maverick Vinales.
