Toyota Hilux Remains Its Mainstay in Indonesia

RiderTua.com – Toyota has various types of cars that it sells in Indonesia, from MPVs to SUVs. They also sell several commercial cars, with the Hilux being one of them. Both single and double cabin models still recorded quite good sales results for Toyota. Especially after they presented their new variant in the form of the Hilux Rangga about two months ago.

Toyota Records Quite Good Sales Results From Hilux

Pickup cars like the Hilux are clearly models that sell well in the market, especially in the Southeast Asia region. How could it not be, this model has become the best-selling car in this region over the past few years, with tens of thousands of units sold. It’s no wonder why Toyota has made it a mainstay in the pickup car market, whether it’s a single or double cabin or d-cab model.

If you look at it, sales of the Hilux d-cab are much higher compared to single cabins in Indonesia. As a comparison, usually the double cabin model can sell more than 2,000 units, or more, while the single cabin model only sells around hundreds of units. Of course, this is a very different sales gap from each other, even though they are both Hilux models.

    Remain a Sales Contributor

Now Toyota is offering a new variant of the Hilux, namely the Hilux Rangga (Hilux Champ in Thailand). From the name alone, you can guess that they are bringing back one of the names of the commercial cars they sold in Indonesia decades ago. It’s just that it brings a new design, as well as being a variant of the Hilux, even though the model is still imported from abroad.

Reception of the Hilux is still quite good, both for double cabin and single cabin models. For the single cabin model, the Hilux has some difficulty competing against models such as the Suzuki Carry, Daihatsu Gran Max and Mitsubishi L300 in Indonesia. But at least this Toyota pickup remains a contributor to sales in its class.
