However, they still provide other types of cars in the four-wheeled market, from hatchbacks, city cars, to sedans. One of them is Wuling Starlight, which is still being sold in its hometown for now. Even though we have only sold one engine variant, this model has sold more than 50 thousand units.
Wuling Starlight Just Sells One Engine Variant
Starlight is indeed one of the cars with a silver badge from Wuling, and some think the model will be sold on the global market. In fact, even now they are still selling it in the Land of Bamboo Curtain, either because they know that the global sedan market doesn’t have many enthusiasts or for other reasons. Even though the model and specifications alone are quite promising.
To date, Starlight has sold 50,888 units since it was first launched there. It turns out that this sales figure was entirely contributed by the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model, considering that the electric variant was not released until April 11. At that time, Wuling had started selling it, but the PHEV variant of Starlight was already selling well.
Different Variants
Because they are two different variants, the Starlight PHEV and the electric version already look different from their external appearance. Maybe Wuling deliberately gave this difference to the two variants so that they are more easily recognized by many people. Including providing the characteristics of each model.
The BEV version of Starlight only relies on an electric motor and battery, with a distance of up to 510 km when fully charged and is the highest variant. In terms of performance, the electric motor can produce 100 kW of power and can go up to 150 km/hour. USB charging port and ISOFIX are also one of the mainstay features of this model.
As for the price, Starlight BEV is sold starting from IDR 260 million in the Land of Bamboo Curtain. Unfortunately this model is only being sold there, perhaps for now.
