RiderTua.com – LMPV (low MPV) cars have still had a lot of interest in Indonesia in recent years. Even though there are more and more SUV models being sold, this type of model is much sought after because of its affordable price and the ability to carry lots of passengers and luggage. There are now eight LMPV cars being sold in Indonesia. Two of them experienced price increases starting this month.

LMPV Cars Sold in Indonesia are Increasingly Varied

Usually LMPV cars have an affordable selling price, as well as quite complete features according to the price and target market. Sales of this type of car are also quite good, with the Avanza still leading sales for the last few years. Even though sometimes the Suzuki Ertiga or Mitsubishi Xpander can outperform it, the Avanza has again taken the top position.

Talking about Ertiga and Xpander, recently Suzuki and Mitsubishi increased the selling prices of these cars. Indeed, the increase is quite significant with this price change, but both are still sold at quite reasonable prices. Moreover, the Ertiga has a hybrid variant which is still affordable, while the Xpander doesn’t have this environmentally friendly variant, at least for now.

So a Mainstay in its Segment

Avanza and Xenia have been present for a long time in the LMPV segment in Indonesia, and now have to face off against six competitors from six different brands. Even Xenia itself was unable to surpass the Avanza in sales, which has always been number one for more than a decade. It is clear that there is no doubt about a car like this, from the selling price to the quality.

Brands outside Japan also sell LMPV cars, such as Wuling Confero and Hyundai Stargazer. But like the Avanza, the Confero has a van variant in the form of a Formo, like the Avanza with a Transmover variant specifically for taxi fleets. Talking about fleet cars, the Mobilio is the only model in its class with one remaining variant, even though this model is intended for the fleet segment.
