RiderTua.com – Mitsubishi launched the Xpander HEV in Thailand about two months ago. This low MPV car finally got an environmentally friendly variant, and the low SUV model Xpander Cross also got it. However, Mitsubishi still hasn’t presented it in other countries, including Indonesia. Even though Xpander is one of the main contributors to car sales here.
Mitsubishi Hasn’t Released the Xpander Hybrid Until Now
Regarding environmentally friendly cars, Mitsubishi has just started selling its electric car in Indonesia, namely the L100 EV. It’s just that this model is presented as a commercial car, and even then it is not ideal enough to be used as a passenger car. Previously they had sold the Outlander Sport PHEV, before they stopped selling it because demand was quite small in the market.
Meanwhile, Mitsubishi has introduced a hybrid or HEV variant for two Xpander models in Thailand. With this, they should have launched it in other countries including Indonesia, considering that the model is widespread in the Southeast Asia region. They had confirmed that they would release it, but until now there has been no further news.

Wait for the Right Time
Mitsubishi said that bringing the Xpander HEV to Indonesia would not be a problem. Moreover, they can assemble it if the factory is ready to produce the hybrid engine. What we have to wait for is a decision from the principal and demand in the market, both LMPV, LSUV and hybrid.
Maybe it’s quite a long time to be able to wait for the presence of an environmentally friendly car from Mitsubishi, even though they have sold two models, consisting of a PHEV and BEV model. However, if they can introduce hybrid cars in a segment that has a lot of interest, sales can increase even further. But for now they are waiting for the right time to launch it.
