Mercedes-Benz Starts Preparing Electric Car Production
The electric car market continues to grow every year in Indonesia as time goes by, and more and more new models are being released. Mercedes-Benz also doesn’t want to be left behind, and they present various models of their EQ series. It’s just that because it is an electric-powered luxury car, it’s not surprising that the selling price can exceed the conventional version.
Mercedes-Benz already knows this, but they previously did not plan to assemble it locally because the factory was not ready to produce this type of car. But now it’s different, where the German brand has plans to assemble its electric cars in Indonesia. However, when production will start has not yet been decided.
More Affordable Prices
Even so, this is good news, because finally Mercedes-Benz can assemble its environmentally friendly car after a long time. Because most of the models are imported directly in CBU form, making the selling price even more expensive. They also want to get electric car incentives for their EQ series models.
Apart from being able to sell its electric cars at more affordable prices, Mercedes-Benz can reduce car imports from abroad. This includes fulfilling orders more quickly, and not having to wait months for the unit to be delivered to the dealer. Still, they haven’t confirmed when they will start production, perhaps until the factory is ready to assemble electric cars.
