RiderTua.com – Even though the 2024 M1 is getting further away from top competitor bikes, Fabio Quartararo appreciates Yamaha’s efforts to improve its bike. However, the 24 year old rider wants to secure a good position for himself in the hot MotoGP transfer market.

On Thursday ahead of the Portuguese GP, El Diablo said, “We also tried some things in Doha, but we were not ready. Yamaha is better than before, and the mentality in the pits has also changed. But we are not ready. We are working well, but I don’t expect us to go 0 to 100 in 3 months from now. The problem is that if I improve 0.7 seconds, my opponent goes 1 second faster.”

Thanks to Pecco Bagnaia‘s contract extension (2 years) and young Spanish rider Fermin Aldeguer’s contract with Ducati (2 years), the transfer market for 2025 is increasingly interesting to follow. As is known, many MotoGP rider contract agreements will expire at the end of 2024.

Currently Fabio Quartararo is only thinking about what to do and if necessary, it must be done quickly. Fabio admitted he was talking to several manufacturers. “He can say that he is not in a bad situation at the moment,” said the French rider.

But what is the way out for Quartararo? At Ducati there is almost no choice, as 8 places will likely be reduced by 2025 (only 3 teams and 6 bikes). KTM also has quite a promising supply of riders for the future, namely Brad Binder and MotoGP rookie Pedro Acosta.

If Quartararo wants to improve his situation from 2025, then the Aprilia will be the only fast bike left for him. That’s why he has spoken to Aprilia racing boss Massimo Rivola. With Aleix Espargaro and Maverick Vinales, Aprilia currently has the oldest pair of riders under contract. And what’s more, both drivers’ contracts will expire at the end of 2024.

Aprilia must also equip the Trackhouse team with factory bikes for 2025, so a rider like Quartararo will definitely be welcome there. This team will also be very interesting for Quartararo himself. In Noale, the number of interested parties may also not be small. Enea Bastianini, who may have to give up his place at factory Ducati to Jorge Martin, could also approach Aprilia.
