Four of them are pure electric cars, with two of them having been assembled locally and the other two having just been released. Indeed, MG Motor has planned to launch a hybrid car here. MG Motor Hybrid Car Will Be Sold This Year
Environmentally friendly products from MG Motor have been successful in attracting the attention of Indonesian consumers since they were first released. The ZS EV and 4 EV models are now produced locally, so they can be sold at more affordable prices. Not to mention the release of the Maxus 9 and ES EV to fill the luxury MPV and station wagon segments.
Since they already have four electric cars, they then plan to launch an HEV or hybrid model. This is clear because this type of car has been quite sought after in Indonesia over the last few years, especially with its stable sales performance. However, MG doesn’t want to discuss it further for now.
Hybrid SUVs
From the news circulating, the hybrid model in question is the VS HEV. Even though the name itself is different, this model is actually a hybrid version of the ZS, although in other countries this model is called by a different name. For example, Astor is the name of the model in India.
VS HEV relies on a 1,500 cc 4 cylinder hybrid engine, with 204 ps of power and 242 Nm of torque overall. Powerful enough for a model like this, although it looks like the model will be imported from Thailand, like the petrol engine version of the ZS. But who knows, in the future MG may assemble it locally.
