RiderTua.com – Electric cars can now get incentives in Indonesia, both locally assembled models and CBU models from abroad. However, locally assembled models are the best sellers because they are priced at a more affordable price. Incentives for locally assembled electric cars for this year have started to take effect. It’s just that there are only three BEV models that meet the requirements.
Locally Assembled Electric Cars Get Incentives This Year
Electric car or BEV incentives have been proven to increase sales of this type of model in Indonesia in recent years. Because it was quite successful, the government finally continued to provide price reductions for locally assembled cars. Even though imported cars now also get it, they come with a number of quite strict requirements.
As before, locally assembled cars that still receive incentives must have a domestic content level (TKDN) of 40 percent or more. Even though there are now many BEV models produced in Indonesia, there are only three models that meet these requirements. Namely the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Wuling Air EV, and Wuling Binguo.
Not Yet Fulfilled Requirements
Of the three models, Binguo is still relatively new, but its domestic components have reached 40 percent, so it can get incentives. With this, the selling price has dropped drastically, such as the Ioniq 5 which is priced at IDR 60-70 million cheaper. Then Air EV and Binguo both dropped prices by around IDR 20 million.
Meanwhile, other models such as the MG 4 EV to the ZS EV cannot get this incentive because the components have not yet reached 40 percent. Even so, MG Motor is already trying to achieve this target in the next few months or years. Even without incentives, the selling price of 4 EVs was reduced a few days ago, and even then the price tag is quite affordable.
So it could be said that only these three electric cars will receive incentives. While other models don’t, and manufacturers are starting to catch up.
