No ‘Old School’ Bikes on Ducati Team for MotoGP 2019

OldRider MotoGP –  Unlike this season, on the next year in MotoGP 2019 Ducati will only deploy 6 bikes. And there will be no more 2017 engine version. This’s because Ducati only supply two satellite team. That only two types of engine are registered to be legalized/homologate, such as 2019 and 2018 engine versions. No ‘Old School’ Bikes on Ducati Team for MotoGP 2019

Two Types of machine

This year, Ducati Corse has run three satellite teams on MotoGP World Championship and it happened for three years, such as Pramac, Reale Avintia and Angel Nieto Pull & Bear team. Next year, Angel Nieto team will joined with SIC Petronas Yamaha team, along with Morbidelli and Quaratartaro. So Ducati will only have six engines, not eight Desmosedici engines like today. The only difference is Ducati able to focus on two engine specifications (2018-2019). Where currently Ducati had Desmosedici engine of 2016-2017-2018 versions.

As reported by speedweek (28/07/2018), on this 2018 season Ducati squad using three types of engine:

  1. Andrea Dovizioso, Jorge Lorenzo, and Danilo Petrucci (Pramac) use the latest version of the current 2018 engine manufacturer.
  2. 2017 Ducati bike used by Jack Miller (Pramac), Tito Rabat (Reale Avintia), and Alvaro Bautista (Angel Nieto Racing Team).
  3. Two riders, Xavier Simeon (Real Avintia) and Karel Abraham (Angel Nieto Racing Team) compete with 2016 Desmosedici engine.

For 2016 version, the difference is quite significant because it still hadn’t applied the ‘rotating counterclockwise crankshaft‘ type of engine. Where with this type of engine, the bike will perform more wilder. With the decline of this team, Gigi Dall’Igna will be simpler in terms of logistic and spare parts supply. Next year we will see three of the Ducati Factory riders with 2019 engines. And other three with 2018 engines in satellite Team ( No ‘Old School’ bike).

Rental Fee per season

On factory team, Dovizioso and Petrucci with Jack Miller (Pramac) will receive the new motorcycles. For Rookie Bagnaia (Pramac) will using 2018 specs. Two riders will equipped with 2018 engines as well (Reale Avintia team ). The line-up riders with Tito Rabat and Karel Abraham will soon be inaugurated in the near future. The rental cost for team per 2018 rider is about 2.2 million euros (not included crash) per season.. Equal to US $ 2,6 million or 176.280.380 INR..!
