Pedro Acosta Overtakes 4 Riders Who Are Known to be the Most Difficult to Overtake!

RiderTua.com – Rookie Pedro Acosta’s performance at the Portuguese GP was phenomenal. The 19 year old rider was able to overtake top riders in the class of Jack Miller, Brad Binder, Marc Marquez, and even defending champion Pecco Bagnaia and made him the third youngest rider to climb the podium in his second race on his debut in the premier class in Portimao.

Sylvain Guintoli said, “Rider of the day was Acosta. Unbelievable!”

Meanwhile Michael Laverty added, “He is the prize that MotoGP needs right now. All the talk about aero and difficulty overtaking? He overtook the 4 riders who were the most difficult to overtake, namely Miller, Binder, Marquez, Bagnaia. He made it look easy, effortless. In fact in his interview on the podium. He has everything, charisma, speed, style, he does it with confidence. We will definitely talk about it throughout the season. How a beginner, already on the podium!”

Regarding Pedro Acosta’s racing style, Michael Laverty said that he stands out. He has been the talk of the town in Moto2 and Moto3, he is able to put the bike where it needs to be. The control even off the track is incredible, into dirty parts of the track with sliding at the back.

“His ability to calculate and figure out how he can overtake every time. Pecco’s overtake is the best, it means a lot to him. He has to really think about it, think about how he can attack. It’s incredible. Down inside on the dirty sections, the back was ‘skating’. He had to give up, he was losing time.”

“His front tire pressure increased. Then it was like he dropped a bomb into turn 3. Cleverly, he cut back, laid the bike back to the inside, not giving Pecco a chance to attack again. He was lucky with Vinales’ gearbox problem to get a podium, but he He deserved it,” said Laverty.

When Acosta was asked about his favorite overtake, the rookie from the GasGas Tech3 team said, “Pecco. I spent a lot of laps behind him. I tried to overtake him in turn 1 but went wide. I struggled to stop the bike and then said ‘okay’. Then I said again that “I had to overtake him again. Pecco was good because he was the first at Turn 3,” said the young rider nicknamed Shark from Mazarron.

Acosta finished behind Jorge Martin and Enea Bastianini in Sunday’s race, after finishing 7th in the sprint race.

Regarding the course of the main race, Augusto Fernandez’s teammate said that it was extraordinary, from the start the bike race was much better than on Saturday. It is true that in long distance races with heavier fuel tanks, it is more natural for him. Acosta has been doing races like this his whole life. He tried different things in the warm-up to understand what he needed in the first lap, and it worked.
