Daihatsu Xenia Recall Targeted to Be 90 Percent Handled This Year

RiderTua.com – Previously, Daihatsu and Toyota carried out a large-scale recall of their cars sold in Indonesia. It is said to be large scale because the model affected by this recall is the best-selling model. Both the Toyota Avanza and Daihatsu Xenia are included, and are still being handled. They target to complete 90 percent of recalls this year.

Daihatsu Withdraws a Number of Cars in Indonesia

This recall really surprised many people, because the models affected were mostly LMPV models from Daihatsu and Toyota. Both the Avanza, Veloz and Xenia are among the best-selling cars in their segments. Not to mention the problems that have to be handled by the two brands are quite diverse, from shock absorber nuts to door beams.

Daihatsu said the repair process had only progressed to less than 10 percent, with the shock absorber nut only reaching three percent and the door beam five percent. This is caused by several causes, including holidays. In fact, if you look at Ayla’s recall, the process didn’t take up to five months and was 98 percent complete.

Maybe this is because of the units sold in the market so far, where Xenia has sold more than Ayla, so there are more units to be handled. But there are also other causes, such as long holidays which make car owners delay repairing their vehicles. Even though Daihatsu has given notice to the owner to immediately repair it at the nearest dealer.

Xenia is the model that has been widely recalled with around 43k units said to have potential problems with the shock absorber and door beam. So Daihatsu must try to fulfill all these requests, and the target is 90 percent corrected. It’s clear that not only this brand has to handle it, Toyota is also included, with the number of units handled being greater than that.
