Citroen Ready to Assemble Cars in Indonesia?

RiderTua.com – Citroen has restarted car sales in Indonesia since last year. Even though they have only presented three superior models, they are already serious about pursuing sales here. In fact, Citroen is said to be ready to produce its cars in Indonesia starting next July. Regarding what model it will assemble later, it is still not certain.

Citroen Restarts Car Sales in Indonesia

Restarting sales in Indonesia is a new beginning for Citroen, especially after being absent for more than a decade. This time they brought their flagship SUV, as well as an electric car for the first time. It is clear that with the trend of both markets increasing in recent months, the French brand does not want to be left behind.

The three cars are still imported in CBU form from India and France. Even so, the selling price is quite affordable, one of them is even sold for under IDR 500 million. Still, Citroen wants to offer even more affordable prices, as well as reduce imports from abroad.

Many Fans

Since returning here, there have actually been plans to assemble the car locally in Indonesia. Now Citroen is said to be ready to produce it starting in July 2024, but it has not stated which model it will assemble later. It is likely that the C3 model will be produced, considering that the model is sold at a fairly affordable price and has many fans.

What is clear is that if the news is true, then it won’t be long before locally assembled cars from Citroen will appear on the passenger car market in Indonesia. Of course this is a good thing, considering that more and more manufacturers are selling here, including producing locally. But that also means more competitors in the market, and unlike before, Citroen has to deal with competitors from various countries.
