The 37 year old rider only started 11th in Superpole and crossed the finish line in 17th position in the first race at Phillip Island a week ago. The disaster continued with a crash in the second race. And after the start of the season, Rea became 1 of only 5 regular drivers who had not been able to score championship points.

Yamaha feels responsible for the disaster that befell Rea. Nobody expected a difficult start to the season for Rea at Yamaha. We have to learn from these difficulties and mistakes. Before the opening race in Europe, specifically in Barcelona, on March 22-24, a 2-day test will take place in Spain. So Rea is expected to be more competitive.
