RiderTua.com – Francesco Guidotti, KTM team manager, expressed his opinion after the last test, will we see a more competitive KTM RC16 bike starting from the next series at the French GP -Le Mans? For KTM, 2024 should be a year of extraordinary growth, but so far the results have been slightly below expectations. The best driver in the standings is rookie Pedro Acosta, while the factory team is less than everyone expected with Brad Binder and Jack Miller. The South African, who was second in the first race in Qatar, has 59 points: 10 fewer than Spanish newcomer Acosta and Binder 33 fewer than championship leader Jorge Martin. In contrast, the Australian rider collected 22 points to rank 14th in the world…
KTM Finds Something Interesting at Jerez Test

After the Spanish Grand Prix, the MotoGP riders returned to the track at Jerez for another important day of testing. At KTM headquarters it was analyzed what didn’t work during the race weekend, but new parts were also tried: an all-new fairing, also tested by Pedro Acosta from the GASGAS Tech3 team.
Francesco Guidotti, KTM team manager, is satisfied with the work done… “We have a lot of things to try in every area. We found something interesting that we can use immediately. We have suspension to test and also a ride height control device ( ride height device). We had a slight delay in giving the riders the new aerodynamics to try. This is one of three tests we have had throughout the season, so we have to be at our best.
Will the KTM RC16 bike be better in the next race?
Guidotti explained that all four riders (KTM and GasGas) involved in the development, got the same RC16 and it was important to hear more opinions in development.. “The bike is the same and the riders have the same specifications. Whenever possible, we rotate the parts to get maximum feedback. With the riders we work in the short term, with the test riders Pedrosa and Espargaro different work is done, in the medium term we want to keep it confidential, and then decide whether to continue in a certain direction.”
At KTM they have test riders with high level experience such as Dani Pedrosa and Pol Espargaro, two people who can really provide an important impetus for the growth of the bike. Their input regarding things that need to be improved is very basic, besides that their experience and suggestions can also help riders directly. We’ll see if a more competitive RC16 starts in the Le Mans series.
