RiderTua.com – Actually, Brad Binder has a chance to climb the podium in the MotoGP sprint at Jerez. But the Red Bull KTM rider ended up in the gravel. Considering the dangerous track conditions, he crashed at the ‘Sito Pons’ corner on the 9th lap. Although Brad missed out on points, he was pleased with the strong performance of his teammates with Pedro Acosta finishing in 2nd place and Dani Pedrosa 3rd.
For Brad Binder, Saturday didn’t end with the desired result. Because he didn’t qualify directly for Q2, he had to take a detour through Q1. “The track is not completely dry or wet. I was in 4th place in Q2,” said the rider from South Africa.
Brad Binder : Pecco is Trapped!

From the second row on the grid, Brad Binder launched like a rocket and immediately led the track for several corners. “At the end of the straight I saw that there were more wet spots, which I didn’t notice during the warm-up lap. These were the obstacles. The wind conditions were also dangerous,” said the 29 year old rider.
At the start of the second lap, Binder caused quite a stir. After a bad exit from the final corner, Marco Bezzecchi and Pecco Bagnaia overtook him. At the first corner there was a bump and collision between Pecco who was trapped between Bezzecchi and Binder who made contact with him.
“I went through the corners normally, as usual. I had a bit of a high side when I came out of the last corner and they both overtook me. I expected there would be a tight competition in turn 1. When there was contact, I thought we would all fall, but I took racing normal line. Pecco couldn’t go anywhere (was stuck),” said the rider who is currently ranked 6th in the standings, explaining the incident.
BTW, Binder only found out from his team when he was in the pit that Pecco had crashed.
On the 9th lap, Binder crashed at Turn 5 with Alex Marquez and Enea Bastianini. He said that when Alex fell in front of him, he slightly pulled on the gas and felt his front wheel slip. He raced through a small damp spot. That’s why the three of them crashed.
