RiderTua.com – Marc Marquez warned Ducati that he is ready to listen to offers from all manufacturers, the Gresini team rider is ready to change manufacturers. The MotoGP rider market is actually already moving, even behind the scenes (unreachable by journalists). Yamaha’s reconfirmation of Fabio Quartaro came as the first surprise and much of the fan interest revolved around Marc Marquez’s future. There is an open hypothesis that Gresini could have an official spec bike for next season, for which reason Marc could decide to stay. However, some of the former Honda rider’s statements leave room for speculation… Or he intends to displace other riders whose contracts have expired.
Marc Marquez Warns Ducati
Managers and riders try to hunt and get the best bike for the next two year period. After a very disappointing 2023 with the RC-V, Marc Marquez is making amends with Ducati at satellite team Gresini. He has so far come close to winning on two of his three occasions, in the Portimao and Austin Sprint races, and the top of the podium is only a matter of time. One look at the present and one look at the future, realizing that the doors of every manufacturer are always open to anyone.
In an interview with TNT media he opened up opportunities for all manufacturers .. “To be honest I think that this year the rider market will be more interesting and it will take longer to sign contracts and other things… At the moment, every manufacturer has recruited the best riders. Ducati signed a contract with Pecco.. Yamaha with Quartararo. The next one is Aprilia, they will confirm one of the two (Aleix Espargaro and Maverick Vinales) and then they will wait for the second rider Aprilia is still relaxed about joining or not in the rider market, especially after the results Maverick’s ultimate finale in Texas!
So what is the future for Marc Marquez?
Marc Marquez is still waiting like most MotoGP riders. In general, there will be two options… First: stay at the satellite Ducati team or sign a contract with the factory team. “For me all doors are open. The fact is, the faster we are on the track, the more teams ‘open the door’ for you. This is my goal. Right now I am in a different position because now I am having fun, I feel competitive and I want to continue having fun. Then I’m willing to listen (to all offers from all manufacturers).”
The possibility of a return to Honda has to be ruled out, as the interest of KTM, who shares sponsorship with Red Bull, has been known for some time. However, the rise of Pedro Acosta forced KTM to focus on the phenomenal rookie. The Marquez-Acosta pairing would be a dream come true, but Borgo Panigale (Ducati) will try their best not to let Marc get away with it. One of them is by giving him a factory spec bike even though he remains in Gresini…
