RiderTua.com – Pedro Acosta again beat all KTM racers even in the Pre-Race. In the practice session, Acosta clearly beat his colleagues from the official KTM team, especially his teammates at GasGas, but the Spaniard was focused on other things.

Pedro Acosta also proved fast in Austin, where he raced for the first time in MotoGP. He finished Friday’s pre-qualifying session fifth fastest, thus gaining direct access to Q2 today. A truly extraordinary result, also considering that the official KTM racers were unable to stay in the top 10 and therefore all the KTM riders, except Acosta, had to pass through Q1, as did his teammate Augusto Fernandez.

Austin MotoGP, Acosta insists he is a super racer.. The Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 team rider said he was very satisfied at the end of the first session, realizing the potential to perform even better in the rest of the weekend.. “I’m very happy to be in the top 5, this is not an easy track for a beginner, but I managed to qualify for Q2 and in MotoGP that’s very important. I’m very happy, because we made incredible steps from morning to evening. We more or less know what to improve. Definitely stability, the track has a lot of bumps and it’s not easy. But I think we have something.”

Acosta is confident he will find a solution to be more competitive in Texas. He was very focused on himself and didn’t think about the comparison with the official KTM riders who were of course very disappointed because they were beaten again by the Spanish rookie. Acosta said that beating all the KTM riders was not that important to him, because in the end he knew they were fast and would advance to the Q2. “I’m not focused on that, but on the work we do. Our base is good and now it’s time to have fun. And in the most difficult days we will enjoy the learning process. We have to be calm.”

Brad Binder, fourteenth, was 0.585 seconds behind Pedro Acosta. On the other hand, Jack Miller, sixteenth place is also behind Augusto Fernandez, with a difference of 0.836 seconds. We’ll see how it goes between now and Sunday in Austin. In the race in Portimao the rookie outperformed his colleagues from the KTM and GasGas manufacturers.
