RiderTua.com – Pedro Acosta celebrates his first MotoGP podium in Portimao. The GasGas Tech3 team rookie started the race by eliminating the Red Bull KTM factory duo Brad Binder and Jack Miller, before turning the race into an exciting one when he was involved in a duel and then managed to smoke Marc Marquez.
The most difficult thing was when he tried to overtake Pecco Bagnaia because Acosta almost crashed his RC16 twice when trying to overtake the factory Ducati rider at the first corner. However, with 5 laps remaining, Acosta finally confirmed his position at the third corner, after Maverick Vinales suffered gear damage and fell, giving Acosta a podium in only his second series in the premier class.
Pedro Acosta : Pecco’s legs are so long he uses them to be more stable

It seems Pedro Acosta is destined for success in MotoGP, and his overtaking of riders like Pecoo Bagnaia and Marc Marquez proves that. When interviewed by the media and discussing his fight against Pecco, Acosta admitted that it would be difficult to overtake the world champion.
“I don’t know. At first I was too busy. I was too busy being behind Pecco. Especially in the first corner because he has very long legs and used them to make him more stable,” said the young rider from Mazarron, Spain.
BTW, when Acosta returned to the pitlane after receiving the trophy, the celebration with his mechanics was marked by joking about removing Acosta’s ‘learning plate (L)’.
Acosta’s mechanic said, “Should we take the L off?”
Acosta chimed in that the race was truly incredible. The pace at the end of the race was very good.
Then GASGAS Tech 3 team owner Herve Poncharal added, “Your face looks perfect.”
While laughing, Acosta added, “Now it’s not the tires. Everyone gets a bonus today. I started better than yesterday, but in the first corner (Marc) Marquez touched me. I finished a little behind, but better than yesterday because yesterday I started badly.”
As she took to the podium, Enea Bastianini said to Acosta, “You have a strong sense of rhythm.”
Acosta responded, “That’s good, yeah. In the end, I kept getting the green light to keep growing.”
So far, it has been said that everything Acosta has ‘touched’ has turned to ‘gold’ during the pre-season tests and the opening two series.
