RiderTua.com – Brad Binder finished 4th in the main MotoGP race at Portimao after the Red Bull KTM rider got three positions because the three rivals in front of him had problems with their bikes (Vinales) and crashed (Bagnaia and Marquez). Binder also praised the performance of rookie and brand mate Pedro Acosta who was able to slow him down at the end of the home straight at the start of lap 5. In the end he lost almost 6 seconds to the young rider from Mazarron Spain.
“When he overtook me, he really seemed to fly. It was really special. When we see Pedro riding like that, we realize how good he is. That’s how he controls the bike. It takes a lot of cornering speed and then positioning the bike very well. I had to “Hats off, he’s a really great rider and he deserves to be on the podium,” said Binder.
Brad Binder : When Acosta Overtook Me He Literally Fast!

This reminds Brad Binder of his rookie period in MotoGP. He revealed that he had problems on the first test. In the first race, he thought he was super fast but then I flew a lot. Binder still remembers that very well. “I used to think that I could fly, constantly slow down other riders and do some funny things,” he said.
Jack Miller‘s teammate added, “Then I realized that these riders were protecting their tires (to make it safely to the finish) or thinking about something else. It was just a surprise we experienced along the way. Whatever happens, racing against the riders we always admire is cool stuff. I love it, it’s really cool! But I think it’s harder now than when I was there. It’s definitely an adventure, that’s for sure!”
Binder sees this intense competition as a positive thing. He said that he always had good teammates in his career who were really able to push him. This can be seen as a blessing or a burden, but Binder always sees it as a positive. I think they can really gas pol together with Acosta and try to move the whole KTM project forward well.
