RiderTua.com – Marco Bezzecchi reveals his problems with the Ducati GP23.. He knows what doesn’t work with his new bike.. In the first series, Marco Bezzecchi only scored 2 points in Qatar, he had difficulty finding sensation and speed with the Ducati Desmosedici GP23 which made him experience more trouble than he imagined.
Despite undergoing pre-season testing which appeared to give him confidence ahead of the race, he did not appear competitive at Lusail. He and the Pertamina Enduro VR46 team had to find a solution. Seeing data on Fabio Di Giannantonio, who is more comfortable on the GP23 bike, and other riders from Gresini can help.
Marco Bezzecchi Explains Problems with Ducati GP23
The rider from Rimini is determined to be able to fight at the front, he wants to solve the problem and show that he deserves to be recruited in the official team (Ducati, Aprilia or others) for 2025.. “I looked at the comments that Bastianini made last year and I often found myself there. I hope I can fix everything a little like Enea.”

Bezzecchi sees some similarities to what Enea Bastianini revealed about last season’s GP23, marked by several serious injuries that affected him greatly. But in any case, the 2023 Desmosedici is also considered a bike that is not easy for Pecco Bagnaia, even though he has won races and titles with him. Some people may need time to adapt to their racing style, which is what Bez did.
What exactly is Bezzecchi’s problem with the Ducati Desmosedici GP23? In Sunday’s Lusail race, he experienced problems with the front wheel, causing him to lose confidence when braking and entering corners. He had to race in a different way and this resulted in his rear tire wearing out more quickly and using more conservative engine mapping. The warm-up session ending in 2nd place gave him optimism and then there was an unpleasant surprise.
However, it is too early to give up and Bezzecchi knows that he has everything to be able to fight with the top riders in MotoGP and now it remains to understand how to turn things around… “Of course I am looking for the best, but also my teammates Di Giannantonio and Marquez The brothers have the same bike as me and managed to be faster than me. I focus on them, look at the data and try to understand why I’m not fast enough. The problem is that at the moment I can’t do what they do.”
The Pertamina VR46 team rider explained the problem in detail… “I wasn’t confident with the front of the bike during the braking phase, the bike couldn’t turn (perfectly) and because of that I lost speed in the corner. I opened the gas too late. Or I entered the corner too slow, because otherwise the bike wouldn’t be able to corner and therefore I opened the gas too early, so the tires would wear out quickly. I’m struggling a bit, but I’m working hard, I’ll get there.”
Bezzecchi never gives up and doesn’t lose his confidence, maybe in a completely different circuit like Portimao he will experience less difficulties than he experienced in Qatar… we’ll wait..
