RiderTua.com – Unexpected rain on Friday made Saturday’s Qatar GP schedule a mess. Finally everything started early and MotoGP practice had to be stopped four times. Heavy rain caused MotoGP FP2, which was the difference between going straight into Q2 or going through the Q1 repechage lap, to be postponed even though Qatar’s Lusail circuit is a track that is known for always being dry. Even though I’ve just had a test here, there’s no rain coordination for a track in the desert!
New schedule for Saturday’s Qatar GP
So FP2 was moved to Saturday and immediately followed by two qualifying sessions. Second practice sessions for Moto3 and Moto2 were also postponed.
This is the adjusted GP schedule for Saturday (WIB : Western Indonesian Time +7):
