RiderTua.com – Marc Marquez will undergo his first season in MotoGP with the Gresini satellite team. After four difficult years hampered by injuries, the eight-time world champion chose to focus on his most competitive bike, the Ducati Desmosedici. In the winter tests he started to gain confidence, his time immediately looked good, even though Bagnaia, Bastianini and Martin were one step ahead. The goal is not to win the World title, but to be able to enjoy racing again, feel on the podium again and look to the future with confidence.

At the first meeting with Ducati in Valencia, it was like love at first sight between Marc Marquez and the red Ducati motorbike, but in Sepang everything looked different on a different track.. Marc said that he still had a few hours left on his current Ducati motorbike. “And I need to improve my racing style. Valencia is not a realistic track because it is a circuit that I really like. Sepang is more realistic because I try harder and from there I have to improve my racing style… When entering corners, it is very different to the Honda .”
After eleven years he took the brave decision to leave the official team to join Gresini, leaving behind his entire life and career partners. “I have a lot of questions in me, I want to understand whether I am still competitive or not. This doesn’t mean I want to aim for the World title, but always be in the top 6, fight for some podiums and some wins. Then we will try something different more, but it couldn’t be done in the first year. I’m sure it was the right choice, because when I end my career, I won’t have any regrets. I did everything I wanted.”
Fans predict that Marc will immediately explode on a Ducati motorbike, but this doesn’t seem to be happening. The MotoGP Championship currently has a lot of very competitive riders who will be difficult to catch. “After four difficult years, I have to understand whether by finding a stable base I can fight for the top positions. I don’t feel ready to be on the podium yet, although people believe so. I haven’t won a race for two years, last year I got a podium in Motegi but in wet conditions. It will take time, then we’ll see if we can get there.”
Will He stay at Ducati?
The MotoGP rider market will soon heat up from the first race of this season, at least until the summer or the final rider contracts. Meanwhile Marc Marquez still doesn’t know what awaits him. “Throughout my career, in February I already had a contract for the following year… before my future was clear. Now it’s not clear, I have to improve myself first, I have to look for good guidance and then try to understand where we can go. More fuel, more doors open! I’m looking for a year in my contract with Gresini to try to have fun, but if we don’t have fun, things become more difficult. I can’t spend a season thinking about retirement, I can still do a lot matter..”
Among the positive notes on the track, of course Marc has personal matters too. For some time he lived with Gemma Pinto and the two appeared as an increasingly close and inseparable couple. A situation that may also have a positive impact on the track. “I’m in a very good moment in my personal life, we live together and everything is fine. Marriage? Life moves in a hurry, but you shouldn’t rush. More confident with Ducati or his girlfriend?
