RiderTua.com – The late Fausto Gresini would have been proud of Marc Marquez joining. Moving from the giant MotoGP manufacturer Repsol Honda to one of the satellite teams (Gresini) in the paddock, will determine the next chapter in Marc Marquez’s career. The 31 year old rider explained why only one engineer followed him from Honda to Gresini. Javi Ortiz is the only engineer to move with Marquez even his crew chief Santi Hernandez remains at Honda.
Marc Marquez does not want to burden his new team with the ‘inner circle’ that has surrounded him since his glory days at Honda. His influence in the Gresini garage should not change the atmosphere of the Gresini family. That is the reason why Marc brought one of his Repsol team crew to Gresini, but not the entire team. “Because they have their own family, their own environment. By changing racers, we cannot destroy that family. I have to adapt to it,” concluded the rider nicknamed Baby Alein.

Fausto Gresini, the founder of the Gresini team, died in 2021 and his wife Nadia now leads the team he left behind. Nadia Padovani explained, “My husband Fausto would be very happy about all this. Because even though he, like us, did not imagine a day like today would come, where Marc would be part of our family, he would definitely be very proud and happy.”
Marc Marquez replied, “For Nadia and her whole family, it is very important for them that I can be in the team because Fausto speaks highly of me.”
Michele Masini (Gresini’s sporting director) said, “Every day I always think, I try to remember everything that (Fausto) has taught us, because I think he is a living part of this team.”
Nadia added that they are a very close family, they always try to be better. Psychologically the Gresini team doesn’t want to put more pressure on its racers, “we are always ready to do anything,” said Nadia.
Marc Marquez’s new crew chief is Frankie Carchedi, who last season worked with Fabio at Giannantonio di Gresini.
