RiderTua.com – By finishing in 12th position in Sunday’s main race at Jerez, Joan Mir became the Japanese manufacturer’s best rider. In Monday’s test, the Repsol Honda rider was in the bottom position with a time of 1:37.7 minutes. For comparison, Fabio Di Giannantonio (VR46 Ducati) who was the fastest rider in the test posted a time of 1:36.4 minutes.
Mir explains that today is more positive than it seems. They tried different concepts and they worked. He says that’s the direction he wants to take in the future. This is a direction they can develop further. This path has potential but not now, but in the future.
Luca Marini’s teammate added, “Finally we know the direction and it’s positive. We tried to find the feeling when turning. It seems like we achieved a better bike handling behavior with this. It’s true, this means we lose in other areas. But we can do a lot growing there.”
“I tried Stefan Bradl’s bike at Montmelo, it gave me some good information but it was also less useful. It wasn’t a different direction. Stefan’s bike is not a bike we will develop further for me. We tried different things on the machine to find a direction with better,” concluded Joan Mir.
