The Chevrolet MPV Car That Still Survives Today

RiderTua.com – Chevrolet may be known for its SUVs, double cabin pickups, and sportcars, such as the Captiva, Corvette, and Camaro. However, they also have a number of cars other than these three types, such as sedans and hatchbacks. However, Chevrolet once sold an MPV car in Indonesia, namely the Spin. Even though production here has been stopped since 2015, the model is still sold abroad, specifically in Brazil.

Chevrolet Only Has One MPV Car

As previously explained, Chevrolet is known as a manufacturer that sells a number of cars such as SUVs, pickups and sportscars. Some of them are quite popular sellers, with Captiva being one of them. Coincidentally, this model is also produced in Indonesia, although for export needs. There are still models for sale here, but not as many as before.

One of the models ever sold is the Spin, the only MPV car from Chevrolet. This model was first launched in 2012 in Brazil, and a year later Indonesia got it, and was even assembled locally. But it only lasted for two years, and in 2015 they stopped production because demand was quite small and the assembly costs were quite expensive.

First Generation Model

Even so, Spin still survives in the South American region to this day, even receiving two facelifts since its launch a decade ago. Both facelifts bring drastic changes to the exterior and interior appearance, even though the engine is still the same. In fact, unlike other Chevrolet cars, the Spin still remains in its first generation model.

But at least with this facelift, the appearance is much different from before, especially the first facelift it got in 2018. Meanwhile, Chevrolet is now focusing on selling SUVs to d-cab pickups, which are its mainstay in the global market. Its presence in Indonesia is almost undetectable, considering that this brand has never been seen releasing other new models.
