Jorge Lorenzo: Marc Marquez Has No Excuses, He Has a Good Bike!

RiderTua.com – Former MotoGP rider Jorge Lorenzo commented on Marc Marquez’s debut with Ducati. He said that victory was close and Ducati had to make a difficult decision. Jorge Lorenzo recently started his new project on YouTube, under the name ‘Duralavita’, where he analyzes race weekends together with other MotoGP figures. The debut of the eight-time world champion has become an interesting topic, fourth place at Losail, a track that has not suited him so far, is indicated as a stepping stone to the podium. Among other things, he had to deal with tire wear, which was more than usual for a rider changing bikes after eleven years with the RC213V. In Austin, this track that Marc Marquez knows so well will be another story, we will see some good action…

Jorge Lorenzo: Marc Marquez has no excuses, he has a good bike!

For now, Lorenzo is highlighting the fact that Marc has outperformed his younger brother who has been at Gresini-Ducati for a long time. Although it doesn’t take long to find the best sensation with the GP23. Jorge Lorenzo, who knows what it means to ride a Ducati and Honda, looks at Marc Marquez with a new approach and a very different mentality. Marc stopped looking for the limits of the bike to be consistent, not fail and, most importantly, face everything calmly. In fact, in this first race the Gresini rider did not need to regret a single accident that had not happened for a long time. Quite far from the ‘record’ in 2023 where Marc had experienced 25 falls. “The Ducati is like an oak tree, which gives you confidence, you know its limits, and it is stable. He will definitely take risks, but he will not fall much,” analyzed Lorenzo.

Jorge Lorenzo – Marc Marquez

He will not be a MotoGP title contender, the difference between Martin and Bagnaia’s GP24 and his GP23 is quite significant, but this year Marquez has no more alibis or excuses, compared to when he was at Honda. “There are no more excuses, because Marc has a good bike,” said Lorenzo, who predicted that Marc would often podium or even win occasionally, especially at his favorite track.

In any case, the time will soon come for Ducati to make a tough decision and choose whether to reconfirm the champion or let him go to another manufacturer. Maybe at the end of the year Marc will have the option of KTM, continuing with Gresini or wearing the Red (Lenovo) jersey if he continues to perform well. Or a return to Honda?…  although the possibility of the latter seems very unlikely given the difficulties the RC213V is facing.
