Pedro Acosta: It’s Not a Tire Problem, but Left Arm Cramps

RiderTua.com – KTM Race Director, Pit Beirer explains why Pedro Acosta lost so many positions in the Qatar MotoGP race and states that tire management is not the main problem. Of course, Pedro Acosta’s debut in MotoGP could be said to be positive. Eighth in qualifying, 8th in the sprint race, and 9th in Sunday’s main race. On Sunday it looked like he could achieve more, he even fought with Marc Marquez, then he lost his position. He admitted that he had not been able to save tires as well as possible, but from the outside there was also the impression that he was also experiencing physical problems.

Pedro Acosta: It’s not a tire problem, but left arm cramps

Pedro Acosta – MotoGP

Acosta himself denied experiencing any physical discomfort, but Pit Beirer explained that there was indeed a problem. At first Beirer thought that Acosta was too aggressive and the rear tire then had a bad effect on him. However, it turned out that Pedro experienced severe cramps in his left arm from the middle of the race onwards. The reason is, the Ride Height Device control lever is not set optimally for it. The use of his left thumb bothered him so much that his muscles became stiff. Without these problems, he could have tried even harder, he said.

Red Bull GasGas Tech3 team rider, Pedro Acosta, finished ninth in the last race. However, Acosta does not want to blame other people or talk about less than ideal tire management. He wanted to avoid the impression of looking for reasons for the results. Pit Beirer, KTM motorsport director, also did not blame Acosta for the result. He explained that the problem with the RC16 height control device used by Acosta was an obstacle that affected the rider’s performance. Despite this, Acosta continues to show his potential and extraordinary abilities. Even though he is still a rookie, Acosta has caught the attention of KTM bosses. This shows that he has great potential to become a successful rider in the future. We’ll have to keep an eye on him in the next races, because Acosta is not an ordinary rider. With his enthusiasm and dedication, Acosta has a great opportunity to become a golden boy candidate at KTM. We will see his development in the future and hope he continues to show impressive performances.
