More and More New Car Brands are Coming to Indonesia

RiderTua.com – There are many car brands in Indonesia and they come from various countries around the world. Most of them are brands from outside Japan, especially from the Land of Bamboo Curtain. Starting at the beginning of this year, BYD and two car brands from Great Wall Motor have started sales here. However, there are still other brands that will be present, such as Jetour from Chery.

Car Brands from Outside Japan are Increasing in Number

This situation is actually considered normal for most manufacturers, especially with the presence of brands that are well known in Europe such as Citroen. But it’s unusual for more than two new brands to appear in a year, and that’s already an unusual sight. Of course, because some of them want to sell electric cars, or just to strengthen their sales again after a long absence.

Interestingly, most of these new brands are manufacturers from the Land of Bamboo Curtain, such as BYD and Great Wall Motor (GWM). The presence of brands from this country has been predicted since the beginning of Wuling’s presence. Especially after car electrification was intensified in the four-wheeled market, this made other manufacturers want to present similar products.

Starting Their Car Sales

But it’s not just BYD and GWM that are starting sales this year, because Chery will bring Jetour and its two flagship SUV models to Indonesia. The model consisting of the Dashing and X70 is said to be sold at a price of under IDR 500 million. This allows both of them to compete with other brands, including products from their compatriot competitors.

When compared to GWM, BYD has been present in Indonesia for a long time since it started selling commercial vehicles in the form of electric buses. In terms of brands, GWM has three brands (Neta is already a separate brand), and they are likely to compete with Chery with Jetour which they will introduce starting in the third quarter.

It sounds pretty exciting to look forward to the competition between these three brands. including brands held by these large companies.
