RiderTua.com – In Qatar, Brad Binder had the best start to his MotoGP career. As in the sprint, the Red Bull KTM rider accelerated from the second row of the grid and entered the first right corner, like yesterday he was behind Jorge Martin. However, the very aggressive Pecco Bagnaia quickly pushed Binder back to 3rd position. Even though it was clear that the 29 year old rider was able to keep up with the Ducati Lenovo, Binder was not very close.
However, Binder was very satisfied with the race at Qatar’s Lusail circuit. With a big smile, he said, “No complaints. In fact, I am happier with 2nd place today compared to 2nd place in yesterday’s sprint. Everything is great because we also took the right conclusions from yesterday and improved. The team worked well.”
Brad Binder continued, “In terms of the rear tyre, we knew it wasn’t going to be easy and in the race it was a consistent calculation and I tried to ride smart. I was always looking at Pecco. Sometimes I got close, but I had to be careful not to got into trouble. But I think the plan worked and it was a lot of fun fighting against the riders.”
When asked if there is a special strategy for the main race in Qatar? Jack Miller’s teammate replied, “Honestly, my rear tire wore out earlier than expected yesterday. And because we knew that today would be more difficult due to the long distance, the important thing was to distribute the speed more evenly.”
After achieving two podiums in Qatar, Brad Binder is now confidently in 2nd place in the World Championship, 2 points behind Francesco Bagnaia who finished 4th in the sprint and won in the main race.
