Designed by former F1 racer Alex Wurz in collaboration with Herman Tilke. New Details Revealed about Qiddiya F1 Track in Saudi Arabia.. Qiqqiya Investment Company (QIC) recently released more information about the new F1 track in Qiddiya, Saudi Arabia.

This track is planned to host the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix starting in 2027. Currently the race is being held at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit which will continue to host the event until the transition. The Qiddiya F1 track is part of the Saudi Vision 2030 initiative and is a purpose-built project to combine the characteristics of a permanent circuit and a road.

The track, developed by renowned track designer Hermann Tilke and former F1 racer Alex Wurz, promises a unique racing experience. One of the standout features of the Qiddiya F1 track is the 108 meter height difference over the 21 corners. This challenging layout includes a 70 meter long climb leading to the first corner, nicknamed “Blade”.

To enhance the visual spectacle, the Blade will be illuminated with LED lights, adding to the excitement and grandeur of the race. To provide overtaking opportunities, the track will incorporate three DRS (Drag Reduction System) zones. This zone allows drivers to open the rear wing, reducing drag and allowing them to pick up speed and overtake their competitors. The strategic placement of these zones will ensure exciting battles on the track. The Qiddiya F1 track will not only be the venue for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix but also aims to become one of the world’s leading motorsport destinations.

With its unique design and challenging characteristics, motorbike racing here will attract motorsport fans from all over the world. The track will offer multiple configurations, allowing for different types of racing events to take place. Abdullah Aldawood, managing director of QIC, expressed his excitement regarding the project, stating, “Speed Park Track will be a true embodiment of Qiddiya’s gaming power philosophy and position Qiddiya City as the home of Saudi motorsport and one of the world’s leading motorsport, motorsport venues.”

The Qiddiya F1 track is expected to host some of the biggest motorsport events, providing an unforgettable racing experience for visitors and spectators. The city of Qiddiya, where the track is located, is part of Saudi Arabia’s ambitious plans to develop multiple megaprojects. Located just outside the capital Riyadh, Qiddiya City aims to become a major entertainment and recreation destination in the region.

The addition of an F1 track further enhances the city’s appeal, attracting motorsport fans and contributing to local economic growth.
