Yamaha Claims That They Have Prepared Marquez as Rossi’s Substitute

OldRider MotoGP – A Japanese factory team Yamaha claimed that they have communicated with Marc Marquez to be a substitute for Valentino Rossi in MotoGP. The claim was revealed by Spanish media, Diario Gol, who informed an early communication between Yamaha with Marquez has occurred. Yamaha claimed to want to take an advantage of the possibility about Marquez isn’t feel good in Repsol Honda, following Jorge Lorenzo’s arrival. Yamaha claims that they have prepared Marquez as Rossi’s substitute…

“In fact, like the voices from that Japanese team, there’s an idea from Yamaha trying to get Marquez if his condition in Honda is bad. Even there are informal contacts,” write Diario Gol.

Repsol Honda ousted Dani Pedrosa and recruited Lorenzo for MotoGP 2019 and 2020. The arrival of Lorenzo as a teammate of Marquez claimed to make condition in Repsol Honda Team went not harmonius.

Further, Dialgo Gol also informed that Yamaha is ready to take an extreme decision if Marquez decides to leave Honda sooner. Yamaha claimed to end Rossi’s contract after MotoGP 2019 and Marquez will be on the team for MotoGP 2020.

“Valentino Rossi has extended his contract with Yamaha until 2020. But if on the next year Marquez ‘opens the door’ to leave Honda. Yamaha will have no problem to end Rossi’s contract and choose Marquez,” write Diario Gol.

Challenge in HRC

Earlier before this, Repsol Honda Team Manager Alberto Puig didn’t deny the possibilities of a feud between Marquez with Lorenzo could happen on next season.

“It’s not easy to set two of the greatest Spanish riders in MotoGP on a same team. But if we want something easy, maybe we will not be a team as today. The condition will be hard, but it’s a challenge,” said Puig.
